如果Firefox的浏览器如同汽车，Mozilla想在要做的就是为汽车加足马力。
当Firefox 3.0在今年发布之后，开放源码的浏览器将包括很多新的特点，包括离线游览器、最新的书签、最新的搜索功能。
所有新特色都是在老版本的基础上进行改革的，最大的特色就是电子邮件。举个例子,Gmail只有当用户再次与网络连接时才可以收到邮件,Mozilla的目标是将浏览器和网络服务结合的更加紧密.目前为止,Mozilla的工程师正在和Zimbra合作,将开放邮件、短信、VOIP（声音传输协议）源码。并将于Google、微软合作，将Gmail、Hotmail整合起来。
其它的改变主要来自“书签功能”和“历史记录”，但是这两方面的创新比较少，Mozilla将书签功能加入自动检索攻能，可以根据使用频率进行自动分类。
Firefox 3.0将带有一个小巧的内置数据库——SQL Lite。主要用于记录检索的历史记录。用户可以浏览缓存中的记录的图像等页面内容。
最重要的是： Firefox工作速度快而且规格标准。Firefox将在最近创建测试代码，用户可以下载使用。几个星期以后，Mozilla将建立论坛，让用户将意见和问题反馈给我们。
Firefox 4.0将支持JavaScript 2语言，Mozilla的将改造JavaScript，尽量简化代码。
