近日，据法国Web监控公司XiTi Monitor公布的一份调查报告显示，在刚刚过去的4个月中，火狐浏览器（Firefox）在欧洲32个国家的市场份额增加了3.1％，达到了创纪录的27.8％，在美国浏览器市场也拿下超过14％的份额。微软在浏览器上的霸权受到了火狐的严重挑战。有些IE用户拒绝采用最新版的IE7。仅1/3的IE用户采用了IE7，与之形成鲜明对比的是85％的Firefox用户采用了最新版的火狐2。在欧洲的17个国家中，火狐2比IE7占有更大的市场份额。
点评：网页浏览器是人们上网查阅互联网信息的必备工具，网景公司的网页浏览器曾把人们引入了内容丰富的互联网世界，而随着微软在其操作系统中捆绑IE浏览器后，微软独霸了这个市场。但网络安全故障的频发，让人们对IE浏览器逐渐失去耐心。大多数欧洲人是基于网络银行、信用卡交易和其他隐私安全性的考虑而舍弃IE。火狐是免费与开源的软件，自2004年秋季正式发布以来，受到全球网民的热烈追捧，短短几个月内，迅速窜升到全球第二大浏览器的位置。火狐不仅再次掀起了新一轮浏览器大战，而且把全球开放源代码运动推向了又一个高潮。
