自从在Digg.com上泄露了Firefox 3.0 Beta 1（RC）之后，大量用户涌到Mozilla的FTP站点下载这个最新版本的Fireofox 3。但现在Mozilla已经把企图下载这个版本的Firefox 3的用户重定向到另外一个网页。该网页解析了为何在官方没有推出公开beta版前不宜使用泄露出来的Firefox 3的原因。
Firefox 3中的“Places”扩展备受期待，它代替了书签功能并且记录了用户平时访问最多站点的标签，此外焕然一新的下载与插件管理器也是个亮点。那些在Mozilla把用户重定向到新网页之前下载到Firefox 3 Beta 1（RC）的用户反映，这个版本中的所有扩展几乎都不能正常使用。
Mozilla对此次取消Firefox 3 Beta 1（RC）下载的解析是：
1. 这个候选发布版本还没有经过其QA组的彻底测试
2. Mozilla还没完成发布Beta版所要进行的步骤
3. 服务器上的这些版本没有做好镜像
Mozilla表示，Firefox 3 Beta 1会很快推出，所以Firefox的用户要留意近来的新闻了。
